My wife and I had our first son when we were about 24 years old. After that, our next two sons and our daughter followed about every two years. We maintained a fairly normal household in the suburbs of Chicago where our kids grew up and experienced just about all of the common challenges of childhood that exist. And our family handled all of those challenges together. This personal experience, along with tons of research about family dynamics and the complexity of raising kids, is what allows me to claim an 'expert' title when dicsussing raising great kids.
